2022COVID 2nd wave had indeed impacted Mahadev like other farmers in Agra village, with agricultural crop further getting impacted with climatic uncertainty was certainly a worry for Mahadev. With late monsoon has further increased the challenge, with no rains till June end decreasing their chances of sowing in Rabi crop. Thus, with the support of BIWAL and training imparted by PMU to HARITIKA team through combination of classroom session and exposure visit on Multi-layer farming covering aspects of layout, bed preparation, crops selection and crop management practices. HARITIKA worked with Mahadev for adoption of Multilayer farming and thus motivated Mahadev for adopting the method.
Thus, when team approached him to set up multilayer farm in his farmland, initially Mahadev was little bit reluctant to go for it. With multiple visits by Agricultural Expert and seeing impact videos from other farmers gradually increased his interest. We further took him to nearest village where we had already done similar demonstration and finally Mahadev got ready for initiating it.
Team further trained Mahadev on crop management practices and set up the multilayer farm, where he has taken both creeper plants and other plants. So far, he has earned more than INR 5000 by selling vegetables like Bhindi, Karela, Gilki, Tomato etc and rest also ensuring consumption for his family.
