2022Lakhanguaw is one of the small village situated in Pipariya Cluster, where Haritika team had motivated a group of farmers to install the community solar irrigation pump. Surrounded by the forest of the Panna Tiger Reserve, economy of the village is fully dependent of agriculture and allied service especially livestock.
Sharing the ordeals, villagers shared that the region because of its dense forest had become place of hidings for various gangs of armed robbers (local language i.e, Daku) and hardly any person from the Administration use to visit the area ever 5 to 6 years down the lane.
During peak summers, they have only one of two drinking water source which are borewells as wells are not successful in the region. Thus whenever there is electrical malfunction which generally takes 10 to 15 days sometimes to get reparied they had to drink dirty water from nearby stream which generally gets drier during that time. Thus with solar pumps being installed has not only solved their water woes for agriculure season but also provided alternate source for drinking water.
